Brooklyn-based indie rock collective, SLOW RICHES, have released their debut single, “Newborn Child.” The track comes from their forthcoming self-titled debut LP, which is set for a 2017 release.
Tracked at Black Lodge Recordings in Brooklyn, NY, “Newborn Child” is an adventurous slab of achey rock and roll that expertly maneuvers across genres, blending soulful blues licks with a compelling vocal performance reminiscent of the great John Legend. Lead guitarists Justin and Sean Richey deftly meld their duel attack, smothered in Southern heartbreak, with the arena-filling sounds of organist Devon Yesberger’s down-home keys. With an essence that reminds you of the one that got away, this track is best enjoyed with a glass of bourbon – neat.
Comprised of a trove of educated musicians and songwriters (Berklee College of Music/Manhattan School of Music), SLOW RICHES is poised to leave their mark on the rock and roll scene of Brooklyn in 2017.
